I’m a firm believer in snuggles and really good books.

But I really hate reading boring books. There’s only so much Thomas and Paw Patrol a person can take. 😝 On the other hand, give me a well written story with excellent imagery and an hour of snuggling together on the couch goes by in a flash. Here are some of my favorite titles that capture the imagination from 2 to 32.

The Inklings viewed a robust imagination as a key defense against the forces of utilitarianism and secularism.

In addition to reading to our kids, cultivating our own reading practice can form and shape us in profound ways. If we want our kids to grow to have robust imaginations, it’s not a bad idea to pay attention to our own. I hope that these fiction and nonfiction recommendations help you to select materials that are formative, editing, and relaxing.
